My racecar gear ratio's have yielded the following data:

Gearbox:- 915 Modified
Tyre:- Kumho Rears
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Top Gear gives 20.904 MPH/1000 RPM and a top speed of 150.511 MPH at 7200 RPM

Top Speed in 1 gear = 42.050 MPH
And changes into 2 gear at 4659 RPM dropping 2541 RPM
Top Speed in 2 gear = 64.985 MPH
And changes into 3 gear at 5161 RPM dropping 2039 RPM
Top Speed in 3 gear = 90.653 MPH
And changes into 4 gear at 5488 RPM dropping 1712 RPM
Top Speed in 4 gear = 118.937 MPH
And changes into 5 gear at 5690 RPM dropping 1510 RPM
Top Speed in 5 gear = 150.511 MPH

Seems like a fairly good setup, but am I leaving anything on the table with this?

I've finished the process.

What I can tell you right now is this:

1. It's not complicated.
2. I definitely would not recommend it to your average home shop guy. Takes too long, too much equipment and in the end, you'd be better off sending them out.

Materials:

1. A mill or higher end drill press with an end-mill bit to drill out the weld
2. An oxy-acetylene setup
3. A jig to mill out the weld, relocate the spindle, and to bend the steering arm properly.
4. Mig or Tig welder
5. Some 1/8" sheet metal
6. A press to move the spindle once's it's free.
